Is there an organization that donates laptop computers to the disabled?

cookywriter asked:
I have a relative who needs computer access but who can no longer use a desktop. Is there a company or group that helps give new/used laptops to those in need?

It would help to know what region you’re in.
Apart from possible charities in your area, you could look into second-hand shops, or even throw in with a few family members and buy a laptop together for your relative. Even if it cost $500, that’s only 50 per person if you share the costs with 9 other people.
Good luck.

Check with the Christina Foundation. They give to groups who help individuals – so many they would give you a lead.

Check with the nearest Independent Living Center (ILC). They might know about such an organization.
